Midsummer in Midsomer 2018 - Our 11th weekend! 22 - 24 June plus extension day 25 June 2018

Our chosen charity for 2018 - which will receive all profits made over the weekend - is WaterAid, and it was named by our star guest, Jane Wymark aka Joyce Barnaby!

MAIN WEEKEND – 22 to 24 JUNE 2018

FRIDAY - We start with a two course “Meet & Greet Lunch” at the Peacock, where we can get to know each other or refresh friendships from previous years.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to Shirburn Church, which appeared in “A Sacred Trust".

We’ll then return to The Peacock for our customary Midsomer Quiz Evening with a BBQ buffet in between rounds.

SATURDAY - After breakfast, we're heading to Watlington, which has supplied several locations for MM, for our customary Village Trail Quiz.

Lunch will be at the Turville Heath Barn – a location from “Destroying Angel”.

In the afternoon, we’ll venture into the depths of “The Hell Fire Caves” in West Wycombe.

Afterwards, we’ll go back to The Peacock, in order to change and refresh.

For dinner, we’re off to “The Swan Hotel” in Thame for a three course dinner – which appeared in “Vixen’s Run”.

We are expecting a very special guest – !! Jane Wymark !! (subject to other work commitments)!

SUNDAY - In the morning we’ll head to Hemel Hempstead for a look around the village.
For lunch we’ll go to the “The Windmill” in Chipperfield, yet another location pub.

For the afternoon, we’re going to Tythrop Park for its one-day-a-year garden open day.

In the evening we’ll have our customary two-course “Farewell Dinner” at the Peacock to round off the main weekend.

Morning – free time to explore or do some shopping.

Lunch – we’re dining at “The Sherlock Holmes Pub” in Northumberland Avenue. They have a reconstruction of Sherlock Holmes’s study upstairs!

Afternoon – Visit to the Guildhall Museum and its City of London Police Museum.

Evening – we’re having a rare treat here on offer - a private tour of Mill Hill Observatory, which was a location in “Written in the Stars”.

Our base for the weekend is again The Peacock Country Inn in Henton – for those who haven't had the pleasure yet, it’s a small but excellent country inn with lots of character in the heart of Midsomer, tucked away in a quiet country lane and views over fields and the nearby Chiltern range.
